Fields of Gold
Giclee print on archival quality paper.
Created by the Woodland Trust, Langley Vale Wood is one of four First World War Centenary woods to serve as a living memorial to those who sacrificed so much in the First World War. Located just a short drive from where we live, it is somewhere that we often enjoy walking.
On this morning, as I looked across the golden, yellow field of flowers, peppered with the brilliant red of poppies, my gaze was drawn to the spire of St Mary the Virgin Church in Headley. Set against the dramatic backdrop of a stormy sky, the contrast between the startling field of gold and the dark, ominous clouds beyond certainly created a dramatic scene. And, whilst almost surreal in the surrounds of the idyllic, gently rolling landscape of the Centenary Wood, I felt that the battle between light and darkness seemed very poignant.
Print will be rolled in tissue and sent to you in a card postal tube.
